Can't Play in this year's ONSA-PAC Golf Tournament? |

There is another way to Support ONSA-PAC This year marks the 10th Anniversary for the ONSA-PAC Golf Tournament. The annual fund-raising event has helped to strengthen the association and make ONSA an important participant in the Legislative process, enabling ONSA to represent the interests of small grocery stores, neighborhood stores, tobacco retailers and all related vendors. Since they also serve as front line store operators, many ONSA members are unable to take a day off for a round of golf in support of ONSA’s Political Action Committee (PAC). If you are one of those unable to attend, there is another way to support ONSA’s legislative efforts and that is by making a personal contribution direct to ONSA-PAC. And the best part is that because of Oregon’s Political Tax Credit, you are able to make your tax dollars support a political action committee that is working for you and supporting those issues important to your business. The Political Tax Credit program allows an individual to make a contribution to ONSA–PAC (up to $50 for an individual or $100 for a couple filing jointly) and, then, to receive a tax credit for this same amount on their state income taxes. Your personal contribution to ONSA–PAC in this amount costs you nothing, since you will receive a tax credit when you file your state income taxes next year. Remember, however, that political contributions are not deductible on federal income taxes. The 2009 Legislative Session is just around the corner. Use your 2008 Oregon political tax credit to make a contribution that will work for you. Send your check made payable to ONSA-PAC, with the information below to ONSA, 1270 Chemeketa Street NE, Salem, OR 97301. A receipt for tax purposes will be returned. Election law requires ONSA to report this information.
